Summer is the perfect time to enjoy alcoholic popsicles! Otherwise known as boozy popsicles, spiked popsicles or “pop-tails“, these popsicles are the perfect treat next to the pool or on your patio! With a little splash of liquor, popsicles as an adult just got SO much better! Keep reading for more than 30 Alcoholic Popsicles that you NEED to make this summer!
Boozy Popsicles are really easy to make – and you can combine any flavors that you love. To get you started, I have gathered up some of my favorite easy recipes from all over the internet. This collection of more than 30 frozen adult popsicles should hopefully get you through the whole summer!

I love the idea of making my favorite co*cktails into ice pop recipes for a hot day! Since they don’t contain a ton of alcohol (likely way less than an ounce of liquor per pop), they’re a fun way to celebrate without going overboard.
These boozy treats are perfect for a summer party, and all of your guests will be so impressed! Plus, they are way more healthy because you can make them with natural ingredients, no food dyes, and fresh juice. Healthy (-ish) and delicious treats? Win, win!
How Much Alcohol Can You Put in Popsicles?
You’ll definitely want to watch the ratio of alcohol to other ingredients – any amount of alcohol will change the freezing point of your popsicles. Because of the lower freezing point, they will have a slightly softer texture than traditional frozen pops, but you want them to still freeze solid.
You will want to aim for a 1:4 or 1:5 ratio or less of alcohol to fruit juice, real fruit, soda, or whatever liquid you are using in your recipe. If you add too much alcohol, your popsicles or freezer pops will remain slushy and you won’t be able to remove them from a mold.
Just don’t wait until the last minute to make these, they will need to freeze for a least a few hours. Otherwise, you will just be drinking your favorite co*cktails out of plastic bags (in which case, just buy these adult capri sun bags that beg for alcoholic drinks!)
A lot of recipes also include fresh fruit purees or simple syrup, which you can buy in the mixers aisle or make at home.
Vodka is a popular liquor to include in these boozy frozen concoctions, but I tried to find a variety of flavors and alcoholic ingredients. Rum, tequila (margarita popsicles are great upgrade to taco Tuesday!), and gin are all great choices to mix with fruity flavors, and I can’t to try every single one of these recipes. In moderation, of course 🙂
Easy Alcoholic Popsicle Recipes
After making these really easy Orange Dreamsicle Boozy Popsicles, I’m really excited to make more popsicles in the disposable popsicle bags I bought! Instead of a traditional liquor, I used bourbon cream to create creamy popsicles just like dreamsicles! As we try to beat the summer heat and I spend some time at the pool and the beach, I think these will be perfect!
You can also buy really cool ice pop molds on Amazon (like these summer themed silicone popsicle molds that include a pineapple shaped one – they are so much fun!)
*Here’s a tip: dunk the mold in hot water for a second to make it really easy to remove the popsicles from the mold! Unlike the bags, you’ll need to grab some food grade popsicle sticks (not just plain craft sticks).
